Ryan Buchanan
Ryan Buchanan is a remarkable young man who in June of 2011 was in a tragic accident while with the Creekside Church High School Group at a beach near Santa Cruz. While digging a tunnel with a friend, the sand collapsed on him and he was without oxygen for about 15 minutes. The result has left Ryan in what doctor’s classify as a persistent vegetative state.
Project Ryan’s Wing is the effort of many people coming together to build a new addition to the Buchanan’s home enabling Ryan’s family and the many around-the-clock volunteers to care for him and provide the support he needs.
Slowly but surely with the loving support of his family and multitude of friends, Ryan has been showing signs of improvement. At the end of February 2012, Ryan was finally able to come home to be with his mother, father and brother. However, the current living situation cannot adequately support all of Ryan’s current and long term needs.
Project Ryan’s Wing allow the proper space for his care providing a handicapped bath with rail and lifting system, an elevator, a backup generator for possible power outages and more. We would appreciate the consideration of a donation toward Project Ryan’s Wing.
